At Canviz, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of the people who visit our website. We are not in the business of selling, renting or trading personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising. We just don't do that sort of thing. This policy explains what we collect on canviz.com, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us, plus limited technical data needed to run the site:
- Contact form. Your name, email address, company, the service you're interested in, and your message.
- AI chat assistant. The messages you type into the chat and, if you ask us to follow up, your name, email address, company, role and a summary of your project goals. See the AI chat assistant below.
- Job applications. Your name, email address, phone number, location, LinkedIn and portfolio links, cover note, and the resume file you upload.
- Technical data. When you use the site, our hosting provider receives standard request information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use IP addresses briefly to limit abuse of our forms and chat, and we don't use them to identify you.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and talk with you about a potential project.
- To review your job application and contact you about the role.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To keep the site secure and protect our forms from spam and abuse.
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights.
We use your information only for the purpose you gave it to us, and for compatible purposes, unless we ask for your consent or the law requires otherwise.
The AI chat assistant
Our chat assistant is an automated AI system, not a person. It helps you describe your project and collect the details our team needs to follow up. The replies are generated by OpenAI's models, so the messages you type are sent to OpenAI to produce each response.
- If you ask us to follow up, we save your contact details, a summary of your needs and the chat transcript so our team can review it and reply.
- If you close the chat without asking for a follow-up, we don't save the conversation.
- OpenAI processes chat messages under its API terms, which do not allow it to use them to train its models. OpenAI may keep them for a limited period to monitor for abuse.
- Please don't share sensitive information in the chat, such as passwords, financial details or health information.
Job applications
Resumes are stored in private, access-controlled storage. Only authorized members of our team can view them, using short-lived secure links. When you apply, our recruiting team gets an email notification with your application details. The resume isn't attached to that email. To stop spam, the application form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser and device signals to confirm a human is submitting the form.
Service providers we use
We don't sell your information or share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do rely on these trusted providers to run the site, and they process data only on our behalf:
- Vercel: Hosts the website and processes requests to it.
- Supabase: Stores contact requests, chat leads and job applications, including resumes in private file storage.
- OpenAI: Powers the AI chat assistant by generating its replies to your messages.
- Microsoft 365: Delivers email notifications to our team and our email correspondence with you.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: Protects the job application form from spam and automated abuse.
- Plausible Analytics: Provides privacy-friendly, cookie-free website statistics.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, in which case it stays protected by a policy at least as protective as this one.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. We periodically delete inquiries and job applications we no longer need. You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See your rights below.
How we protect information
We protect personal information with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. These include encryption in transit, access controls that limit data to authorized team members, and private storage for uploaded files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK GDPR. These can include the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy of your data, and to appeal a decision about your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email info@canviz.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
If you get marketing email from us, you can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of the email, or by emailing info@canviz.com.
Children
Our website is intended for businesses and job seekers, and it is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Where information is processed
Canviz is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you use our site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website and services change. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
